General Information

  1. Mr. Lepp is available before and after class to discuss any concerns you might have.
  2. Tuition payments can be set up as automatic payments with your bank or submitted through D & S Acceptance company.
  3. Copies of the class schedule are available upon request and are also posted on the front window. Holiday closings will be posted at least a week in advance on the front window. If inclement weather occurs, the school will close when RRISD closes.
  4. If you will be leaving for vacation or have to be absent because of work, write a not to Mr. Lepp giving him the information regarding your absence. You will receive a training assignment to be followed during your absence from training.
  5. Rank tests are held every month for white belts through red belts.
  6. Copies of the rank requirements and the martial arts stretches are included with this handbook.
  7. It's recommended to keep a notebook for handouts, your own notes and training diary.

Tai Chi (Ip Sun)

Tai Chi classes are also offered at this school for students ages 15 and above. Tai Chi combines breathing and slow body movements that harmonize the body, mind and spirit. It is a beautiful form of exercise and a personal challenge that compliments the hard style of Tukong. Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 8:30 PM. See Mr. Lepp if you are interested.

Dojang Guidelines

  1. Be on time for class. If you are late to class, warm up, meditate, do 10 push-ups and wait patiently in Ready Position until you are recognized and given permission to join the class.
  2. Sign in on the attendance sheets before each class.
  3. Wear the official school uniform during training. girls and women must wear a black T-shirt under their uniform. Do not wear your uniform outside the school.
  4. For your safety and the safety of others, do not wear any jewelry or barrettes that may fall out of your hair. Keep your fingernails and toenails trimmed and clean.
  5. shoes are not permitted in the work out areas.
  6. Keep your dojang clean, both inside and outside. Directed school cleaning takes place every Friday between classes. All students are expected to help. If you notice that part of the school needs to be cleaned at other times, take the initiative to clean it yourself.
  7. Practice only the techniques that are appropriate for your rank. do not ask permission to be shown more advanced techniques than your rank requirements.
  8. ask permission from Mr. Lepp before free sparring (orange belts and above) or training with any weapon. In his absence, ask permission from the highest rank student, red belt or above.
  9. Show respect and courtesy to all instructors and fellow students.
  10. Smile, concentrate and give your best effort while training. Keep talking, joking and idleness to a minimum.
  11. Remain in complete control displaying patience, respect, humility and brotherhood at all times. Do not lose your temper while training.
  12. Always have something good to say of other schools. If someone should say something bad about your or our school, be humble and don't argue.

Sparring Rules - Effect April 1, 1990

Sparring gear required is

  1. Headgear
  2. Mouthgear
  3. Handgear
  4. Footgear
  5. Groin Protector (for males)

Sparring rules are

  1. No contact to the face, groin, throat or joints.
  2. Controlled sweeps, take downs and throws are allowed.
  3. Light contact is allowed.
  4. You are responsible for the safety of your partner.
  5. You are responsible for your own safety.
