of each row, will each call out a number. Higher rank students
line up first to the left. Additional students line up directly

Then everyone kiap's three times together. (Very Loud!)
Baro: This is a call of return. Anytime Baro is
called out in the school, all students must respond by calling
out Baro and going to Ready Position facing the one who
called Baro. This returns the student's attention to the one
calling Baro for further instruction or safety reasons.
Before and after class: Begin each class with a few
minutes of quiet meditation in formal sitting position to
prepare yourself for class by leaving behind any concerns from
the rest of your day so you can focus on todays class lessons
and the safety of other students and yourself. Also, end class
with meditation, reflecting on: 1) what went well in class;
2) what was challenging; 3) what you can work on to improve
before the next class.
Showing Respect
-
Respect your dojang by bowing as you enter and as you leave it.
-
Respect the instructors and any other martial artists by
always standing to bow and shake hands when you greet them. Only
Masters and Black Belt instructors have the option of shaking
hands while seated without showing disrespect.
-
Respect anyone giving you instruction by coming to Ready
Position when they are speaking and thank them after they are
finished for helping you.
-
Respect all weapons used in training by bowing and using two
hands when you receive or release one.
Asking a Question while Showing Respect
-
When asking a formal question of another person, remember that
they may be busy.
-
Approach the person you wish to ask a question and stop out of
the way of what they are doing.
-
Go to Ready Position and Kiap loud enough for them to hear you.
Do not move or speak until they are ready to ask you what you
want. If they move away, do not follow them.
-
When they acknowledge you, ask your question. Wait for the
answer in Ready Position.
-
After they have answered your question, go to Attention, bow,
thank them for their help and step back.
