My hotel in Japan

The hotel in Japan, called Ikemon-2, was very small. I was just happy to have a place for Theresa and I to stay.

The hotel had a bed, a desk, and a bathroom. The desk is that little piece of furniture against the right wall. The bed is pretty small and has about one foot of space around it. It was a challenge just to find a place to open your suitcase.

Now here's a tiny bathroom. It's surprising though how you come to appreciate it, especially the women. This bathroom is "Western style". I didn't get any pictures but most restrooms in Japan just have a porcelain sink-like thing embedded in the ground that you're supposed to squat over. Thank goodness men don't have to "sit" very often. Oh, and they don't seem to believe in wash-cloths.

The view outside the window was okay. This was taken on one of the days when there was snow on the ground. Even though this was the "Winter Games", Nagano is fairly moderate since it's in the valley.
