Top of the Midgett "World" (large AVI file)10 viewsWe tested the Midgett's direction finders at a calibration range and found some problem. So, our Electronic Technician shop (where I work) had to try to fix them. The VHF radio direction finding antenna is the tallest object on Midgett, and I had to go get it! I grabbed my camera before starting the climb and recorded a short video to document the occasion. Before shooting the video, I removed the antenna; lowered it to the deck with a rope; and covered the tip of the mast with a plastic bag to protect the exposed wiring. At that moment, I was the tallest object on the ship. (Note: Wait about 5 minutes for the video to download...then it will start to play.)Jun 12, 2007
